DSEE: Restoring the High Frequencies – Mark Waldrep

Although a couple of years old now, this article is one of the few focusing on “repairing” the information lost during the digital encoded process from source material to CD to mp3. Having lived through some of the dbx type boxes trying to improve the analog audio back in the 1970’s, no doubt many are skeptical.

There are boxes being marketed intended to put back the lost frequency content digitally now, which in turn have sparked a whole number of arguments. That being said, this one’s kind of interesting, primarily for the graph.
