Is your proposal that I should change the amplifier and keep the headphone or do I need the Omega and the 007 II together to improve the result?
If bass performance is the most significant aspect for you, then all you need do is change the energiser from the 006t to the 007t II and keep the 404s. The Omegas have more resolution in the top end, better separation in the mid band and so on. However most listeners tell me that the Omegas are sonically no way significantly superior in the bass than the 404s. The 404s really are a bargain
