USB flash drives for music storage?

Anybody doing this?

I have an NAD CD player with a USB port, so I thought "why not?". I've gotten real frustrated with wi-fi streaming and I like the relative simplicity of usb. My NAD's USB port is limited to 320Kbps mp3 or WMA, so that's a definite down-side, but honestly, I struggle to hear the difference in 320kbps mp3 and flac files. Which is not to say I can't or have never heard a difference. I can and have, but I have to work at it. But I plan to use the flash drives for random play only, so to me, ultimate fi is not as critical for that as it is for listening to complete albums. Plus, I think it's pretty cool to have 600+ CD's on a little thumb drive.

So, if anybody has had some experiences doing this, pro or con, I'd like to hear them.

Thanks!
