Simon & Garfunkel: The Complete Albums Collection features a total of 11 albums, including all five of their studio albums, one soundtrack, four live albums, and the duo’s 14-times-platinum 1972 Greatest Hits disc.
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel‘s collaborative studio albums all were released between 1964 and 1970, the year the duo broke up. They enjoyed their commercial breakthrough with 1966′s Sounds of Silence, featuring the #1 hit title track, and went on to top the Billboard albums chart with 1968′s Bookends and with their Grammy-winning swan song, 1970′s Bridge over Troubled Water. The Complete Albums Collection features newly remastered versions of the five studio releases.
The compilation also includes the 1968 soundtrack to The Graduate, remastered here for the first time. The live albums include the double-disc The Concert in Central Park, capturing the duo’s historic 1981 reunion show; Live from New York City 1967, recorded at a gig in January of that year; Live 1969, featuring songs from various performances; and Old Friends: Live on Stage, compiled from a series of December 2003 reunion concerts at Madison Square Garden.
Each disc included in The Complete Albums Collection is housed in a sleeve replicating the original record’s artwork. The box set also features a book that boasts new liner notes written by respected rock journalist Bud Scoppa.
