Q:
What are some of The Rolling Stones' most underrated songs?
JAMES H:
I was never a big fan of this album.
Their Satanic Majesties Request 1967.
I always thought it a obvious parody, or attempt to rip - off this album.
It’s a style of music that in my opinion never suited the Stones, and the 1968 Beggers Banquet, and 1969 Let It Bleed was a welcome return to basics by the Stones oppossed to trying to emulate the Beatles.
However some things improve with age like a fine wine. I now think ‘She's A Rainbow’, and ‘2000 Light Years From Home ’, are worthy of any track on the Beatles Sgt Peppers album, very underated, under played, and actually rather sublime songs.
Just perhaps I was wrong to dismiss this Satanic album, and certainly wrong to do so.
