From Newsroom Records, a new 2 CD title consists of the the original 14 track CD plus an additional disc featuring 10 songs, which includes three previously unreleased songs. The limited edition deluxe box set will not be re-pressed. Mid Air is the debut solo album from Paul Buchanan, frontman of the revered and sophisticated Glaswegian adult pop act The Blue Nile. It’s a much more understated affair than The Blue Nile’s previous full length - 2004’s High - with almost all of the intimate, fragile and intelligent material on offer here featuring Buchanan’s cracked tone alongside sparse solo piano accompaniment. Recorded partly in Glasgow and partly a friend’s house on Scotland’s east coast, Mid Air features fourteen succinct, delicate and heartfelt compositions.
