MELCO: New firmware brings Qobuz Downloader to the EX Series of digital music libraries

Melco Audio has released new firmware bringing Qobuz Downloader to its current range of EX Series (and EX-updated) music libraries. Available from today, the new firmware version 4.20 brings even more exciting features to Melco digital music libraries, including a world of high-res audio available to browse and directly download using the Qobuz Downloader.

The new firmware will be pre-installed on all new Melco digital music libraries and is available immediately for owners of existing EX Series machines, plus customers who have updated their Melco music libraries to EX specification, unlocking their full potential.

Melco’s addition of the Qobuz Downloader gives its customers access to thousands of tracks in high-res and CD quality, which can be downloaded directly to Melco music libraries and stored for playback with Melco’s class-leading sound quality, all with effortless simplicity.

In addition, the new firmware offers a number of other improvements, including enhanced media server stability, additional markerless DSD compatibility with a range of USB DACs and updates for Melco music libraries already featuring firmware version 4.10.

Melco Audio’s UK General Manager Dan Raggett said, “I am really pleased to be able to offer this firmware update to customers who have Melco EX Series and EX-updated machines. Qobuz is a well-known and highly regarded resource, offering both access to streaming and download content. The Qobuz Download library gives Melco customers access to thousands of artists, albums and hours of high-quality music. Coupling this with the ability to download and directly store on Melco libraries creates a fantastic proposition for music lovers.”
