BUDDY GUY: When I Left Home – My Story by Buddy Guy

Blues singer and guitarist Buddy Guy released a biography in 2012 called When I Left Home
Martin Chilton writes: "Buddy Guy dedicates his memoir to Muddy Waters - "father of us all" - and some of the most sparkling and gritty reminiscences in this autobiography, called When I Left Home, concern Guy's friendship with his fellow Blues star.

Guy, winner of six Grammys and a man inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2005, was from a family of sharecroppers in a village called Lettsworth in Louisiana. When, after moving to Chicago, Guy first meets Waters, the successful elder musician brings the hungry youngster a Salami sandwich, saying: "You a farm boy?". Waters later tells the homesick youngster: "Pick cotton long enough and you never complain 'bout having to pick the guitar."
