During the divorce from his wife Beverly, John Martyn wrote and recorded songs which reflected his strong and emotional upheaval that he was experiencing at the time. These songs were so personal and unsettling that Island Records didn't want to release the album at first and waited for a year to do so. Right from the start Martyn sets a somber feel with the seductive 'Some People Are Crazy' and he continues with beautiful tracks as 'Sweet Little Mystery', tormented blues of 'Hurt In Your Heart' and he ends with the heartbreaking track 'Our Love'. These are just a few of the highlights that 'Grace & Danger' offers. With some of his clearest, strongest singing in years and a collection of terse, honest originals, 'Grace & Danger' shows John Martyn at the top of his game. This is the jewel case version of the deluxe edition released in 2007.
