For the first half of the 1970s, this iconic band was the most influential rock group in America, redefining popular music and its boundaries. The group’s mix of blues, country, jazz and classical influences, along with their powerful extended on-stage jamming altered the standards of concert performance forever. Perhaps the most poignant Allman Brothers live recording following Duane’s passing. Recorded in hometown Macon, GA in February 1972, these 2 CDs present the unified front that was the five-man version of the band as it gamely soldiered on following the loss of Duane Allman. Surviving members Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Jaimoe rip through classic early tunes from the Brothers, as well as previewing songs that would appear on the upcoming ‘Eat A Peach’.
