The man was a brilliant musician. No doubt about that. But not necessarily a fine writer nor indeed a stern critic of his own work. Had this CD not had the great man's name on it I seriously doubt if anyone would have given it a second glance. A bit like Paul McCartney in his post Beatles days perhaps?
