In 1959, former boxing Champion Jack Duprée bid his farewell to the US and settled in Europe where he toured and recorded constantly. One of the highlights in Duprée's career was his appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1971. His live shows were a mixture of barrelhouse blues and boogie, stories and jokes changing with very emotional, often autobiographical slow blues tunes.
