From the archives: Composer Adrian Munsey releases his new album AGNUS DEI

Adrian Munsey

Herewith some details of my new album (my fifth solo album) Agnus Dei. It was released on the 23rd March and has had a number of radio plays on Classic FM and BBC Radio 2.

It has my first choral piece on it - an Agnus Dei - plus an orchestral suite and the music I wrote for the film OXI.

The performers are the Medici Quartet and the City of Prague Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra.

Agnus Dei

Agnus Dei was inspired by the staff, parents and children of Broomwood Hall School in South London who raised the money to fund and build an extraordinary school in Ethiopia. “I was amazed by the generosity of the principals Katharine and Malcolm Colquhoun, the staff, parents and children. The Agnus Dei, which ends with the words Dona Nobis Pacem (Give Us Peace), summed up what I felt about what they had done.”

Childhood Suite

Adrian conceived the Childhood Suite as a representation of some of the feelings he felt as a young child and the recollection of these in later life.

OXI: An Act of Resistance

The album is rounded off with music from the feature film OXI (recently premiered at the London and Moscow Film Festivals), written and directed by the award-winning Ken McMullen, starring John Shrapnel, Gabriella Wright, Lexi Shrapnel, Dominique Pinon, Eleni Kallia and Alexis Georgopoulos.
