In the world of rock guitar, Leslie West has that distinctive sound and tone that is unmistakable and unique.He gained worldwide fame during his long career as one of the world’s top electric guitarists and one of the most innovative musicians in the history of rock music - with such legends as Eddie Van Halen, Michael Schenker and Richie Sambora citing him as an influence on their own music, and roll call that includes recording or playing with a host of icons, including The Who, Van Halen, Mick Jagger and Jimi Hendrix to name a few.
However, he is most noted for his role as leader of the explosive Mountain, one of the all-time great Hard Rock bands, and this 1969 solo album’s title lent its name to the band that was to follow and dominate the US scene,including an appearance the same year at Woodstock.The album features Cream collaborator and bassist Felix Pappalardi and spotlights West's raw vocals and hismelodic, bluesy guitar style, pumped along by Pappalardi's bass lines.
