LENA HORNE: The M-G-M Singles Collection

This limited-edition disc features many previously unreleased singles that Lena Horne sang in the late 1940s, just as her star in the movies was ascending. These records affirmed that she was much more than a photogenic face. No matter what’s going on in the world today, it’s impossible to not get swept into her vocal sunshine, especially on “Something To Live For” and “Deed I Do.” Duke Ellington protege Luther Henderson conducted several of the tracks.
