STREAMING + FM: Roy Stannard @ Seahaven FM – The Whole Nine Yards

You can only keep a man and his record collection quiet for a while. Roy has spent over fifty years collecting music from around the world and it resides in a dedicated music library at his house, his head and on various hard drives. Restlessly scouring the new music lists for gems that will bring that unmistakable tingle to the back of the neck, Roy is constantly alert for new music that gets the talent antenna twitching.

His history includes Radio Falmer at Sussex University, then a short spell of unregistered radio in Brighton in the early eighties before setting up Worthing Hospital Radio (nowadays Seaside) which grew to a network of eight sites. He then worked to run a series of RSLs in Brighton to support the Festival as Brighton Festival FM and the same in Adur before the team bid for the Brighton FM licence in 1996. Although unsuccessful on that occasion, Roy and his team went on to secure the licence for Worthing as Splash FM, which continues to this day under the umbrella of Media Sound Holdings who have combined them as More Radio.

He loves sharing his love of all kinds of music, near and far, old and brand new with the discriminating Seahaven audience!

His show - 'The Whole Nine Yards' invites you to listen to some gems from the basement of his music library as well as some brand new releases and one or two unsigned artists destined to become stars of the future. It also frequently provides a platform for guests who love music and who have achieved or are achieving great things in other areas of their life.

The show runs from 7 until 9pm on Thursday evenings and your suggestions for rare classics to play and any anecdotes you may have about them would be warmly welcomed.
