This may be a silly question, from a variety of perspectives, but here goes. Folks on here occasionally mention a sound quality often referred to as "congested", usually when the volume gets liberally applied. I've paid careful attention to this in my own experiences, and noticed that the volume at which I hear this effect varies more or less with room size. There are certainly other room-related factors involved, but having used the same setup in four different rooms now, the primary factor seems to be room size.
