The Diminishing Quality Of New Vinyl

I've just about had my experience, the quality of new vinyl is getting worse. I've just realised that of the last 10 albums I've bought, 6 have had to go back due to physical damage, pops and clicks, or unbearable surface noise. In one case, 3 attempts have failed to produce a good slab of pristine vinyl, so I've settled for the CD instead.

So what's going wrong? Back in the day, it was a rare occurrence to return faulty vinyl, (for me anyway). Is it down to poor quality control? Due to the upturn in demand, are pressing plants finding it hard to keep up and just throwing any old product out and hoping for the best?

Enough is enough. Unless it's an artist I'm faithfully collecting, CD is going to be my format of choice from here on in.
