HIFI MAGAZINES: Who writes questions sent to the printed hifi magazines?

The thread starts .....

Most hifi magazines have a Q and A section. They must make them up right?

In the internet age what sort of person would write a letter and post it to a bimonthly publication to seek advice and then have to wait about 3 months to see if (by some small miracle) their question was chosen to be answered?

I have visions of inmates from asylums who aren't allowed a computer, but then why would they be allowed a hifi? The questions rarely cover how to deal with the dampning effect of a padded cell or similar topics.

I assume it's just 'cos the magazines can't be arsed to think of any new angles for their tired old format in order to sell what is in actual fact a thinly disguised advertising pamphlet. Right?
