Recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, harmonicist and band leader Paul Butterfield (1942-1987) was a pioneerof blues rock.Paul and members of his integrated band backed up Bob Dylan when Bob changed the world by “going electric” at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.Paul and his various bands were staples at the premiere rock clubs of the mid-60’s and played both the groundbreaking Monterrey Pop Festival in 1967 and at Woodstock in 1969.The Paul Butterfield Blues Band recording a number of classic albums for Elektra, and their album East/West was one of the first long form excursions of Indian/Rock fusion.Live features some of the staple of his career, BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN, LOVE MARCH, DRIFTIN and DRIFTIN, this 2 CDset fill in the missing gap of a very important in the evolution of his music LIVE 1970.
