There has been a few threads recently on pre amps and what they do and what they bring to the party. With so many members and so many systems here i wondered what the very best sounding Valve pre amp you have heard? i do realise that other components in the chain make a system and it can be hard to pick one component out, but on my hi fi journey i have found that the pre amp is as vital to get right as speakers ( which to me is No1)
I will start this with my experiance and as i changed pre amps in my system the differences where huge. Most of my hi fi years were with integrated amps so im late arriving at the party, and won't have the array of amps some will have had experiance with. But my first experiance with a pre amp was not valve but Glasshouse TVC with my valve monos.
