LS3/5a – which vintage amp?

The thread starts as follows:  Going to try an LS3/5a, or one of the new clones; Harbeth, Spendor, Stirling V2. Received wisdom is that push/pull valve amplification will give the best sound. But, out of vintage solid state, which amplifier do you think will sound good? I'm thinking here for example of Rogers, Leak, Quad, Armstrong, Sugden. Any suggestions for older amps that make these small boxes sing appreciated.
