Buenos Airies 1994 (2CD)

We are told .....

2 X CD SET FEATURING THE BAND S COMPLETE ARGENTINIAN BROADCAST FROM 1994 By 1994, KISS was coming to the end of their unmasked phase, having ditched their make-up and costumes in the early 80s. They didn’t t return to their trademark look until 1996, and the period between was one of mixed fortunes for the band.

They did however achieve considerable success during this time, with 1984 s Animalize going Platinum in the U.S. and the 1987 album Crazy Nights becoming one of the group s most successful overseas releases. 1991 also saw the single God Gave Rock N Roll to You II , a modified cover of the Argent song, become a huge hit and has ended up being one of KISS s most popular live numbers. The band was rocked during this time however by the sudden death of drummer Eric Carr on 24thNovember 1991. Carr had joined Kiss in 1980 following the departure of original skins-man Peter Criss, but after contracting a rare form of heart cancer, he sadly passed away at the age of only 41.

KISS soldiered on however, replacing Carr with Eric Singer in late 1991. Following two more Gold Records, Revenge and Alive III, the band were inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame on 18th May 1993. A resurgence in popularity followed , helped in no small part by the release of the covers album Kiss My Ass: Classic Kiss Regrooved, which featured appearances from Garth Brooks, Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and led to the Kiss My Ass Tour, which saw the band play across the Americas, Japan and Australia.

This double CD collection captures in full the group s appearance at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 3rd September 1994. Performing as part of the Monsters of Rock South American Tour alongside Black Sabbath and Slayer, the show was simulcast in superb audio quality. With numbers included from across KISS s entire career, and with the group back on top form after their earlier troubles , this release will delight the band s millions of fans still flying the flag for these perennial rockers.
