Among the most outspoken and controversial individuals in rock history, Ted Nugent has nevertheless proven to be one of its most successful rock guitarists. Since his beginnings with psychedelic act The Amboy Dukes - best known for their lone hit single Journey to the Center of The Mind - in the 1960s and early 1970s, Nugent has forged a widely-acclaimed solo career, selling over 30 million units worldwide.
This was aided in no small part by Nugent s early trio of multi-Platinum records: Ted Nugent (1975), Free-For-All (1976) - which featured Meat Loaf on several tracks a full year before his own Bat out Of Hell breakthrough - and Cat Scratch Fever (1977).
In 1980, he released Scream Dream, which would prove to be the highest-charting studio album of his career, peaking at No. 13. Renowned for his work ethic as much as his playing, Nugent toured relentlessly during the earlier part of his solo career, playing an average of 150 shows a year throughout the early 1980s.
One such performance took place at the Cape Cod Coliseum, South Yarmouth, MA on 28th March 1981, and was the subject of a live FM radio broadcast, simultaneously transmitted across the country. Now featured in its entirety on this CD for the first time, and including such classics as Cat Scratch Fever , Wango Tango and Stranglehold , this recording will prove a delight for Ted Nugent fans across the globe.
