Ever have a flight segment delayed and miss a subsequent travel leg?  Missing that second flight by only a few minutes might not seem like such a big deal on paper, but it can have enormous downstream consequences like spending the night in a hotel room without your luggage.

In the audio/control/video world, it is essential that the arrival of various outputs be delivered in a coordinated fashion as well, and this is not always the easiest goal to achieve.  Much of it revolves around what’s called system latency.
