Why do audio reviewers join cable companies?

The thread starts:  Yet another one leaving. This time it's Stephen Mejias going from Stereophile to Audioquest. While I never liked, not bothered to read his columns after the first few, I do wonder what the attraction is that cable companies have for HiFi journalists. I mean, just how much can you write about a bit of wire? In Mejias' case, he certainly won't be able to write about his adolescent fantasies any more.
