OLC question mark

The thread starts: The first of the Inside and Out pictorials featuring my new Mitsubishi gear.

The DA-A30 power amplifier is a twin-powered 105 WPC amplifier. It features a heat-pipe cooling system, dual FET input buffers (2SK109; one per channel), and 4 super fast complementary output transistors per channel: 2x 2SA1116 (@ 60MHz) and 2x 2sc2837 (@ 70MHz). This thing was built for speed.

Sound is excellent. Clean, full, and very satisfying. Excellent midrange reproduction and well balanced bass and treble. The amp is a little sensitive about loads. My Equasounds, with their hefty 2-4 ohm load will cause the protection circuit to trip if I go too loud (read: obscenely loud), but it has no trouble with my Altec 890C’s and their very benign 7.2-ohm DCR. Not quite as much ultimate punch as their complementary Kenwood L-07M’s, but still very good for something out of the BPC era.
