Rock and roll died at some indeterminate point during the Noughties. No one saw the body or heard a shot, but it had been in bad health for quite some time. Once the talk centred around the medium and not the material, and the moneymaking suits moved in on the creative process, the hand of rock and roll dropped its plectrum and went limp.
